Hi new n old followers or anyone that may see my posts.
Please note most my Bonsai are still new or young so I'm kind of sharing the development story from early on.
There are many more advanced out there mine are humble hobby level.
Mostly follow best practices as I understand them. I like forests.

On this point; don't think it's unrealistic to say I'm reasonably well read in the SFF genres; if you're looking for ideas for gifts or to read yourself over the holidays hit me up with a couple of favourites & I'll venture rec somewhat out of the middle of the road.
This one of many reasons why critics are still important. It’s our job to seek out art that’s outside the algorithm, because most people don’t even know what their options are anymore.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste

It's time to vote again! This time, there's a shortlist of 40 amazing native plants which are contenders for NZ's favourite native plant. OK, some of the contenders are a little obscure, but who couldn't love a rebel forget-me-not!
Voting links here. You don't need to be in New Zealand.

And back to #Bonsai business for the tiny but mighty Azalea.

All flowers are done, and now some sense of order returns the exposed growth that was under all the flowers.

Didn't have buxus before.
Left to get healthy for months. There's a fair lack of branches in the middle & that straight thick middle is a challenge. For now using what its has low to fill in.
Considering chop n restart.

Here my hopes for Labour supporters (and potential Labour voters) after the conference. #nzpol

(This will not include policy since I don't know what'd appeal to that cohort.)

1) That Labour leadership understand the media landscape is the CoC govt's communications wing, and act accordingly.

Already voting Greens, at this point, just watching to feel more smug about it.
Labour's got good MPs & added 2 top folks recently but just not letting that energy show up as the party's energy out loud against the waves of crap from CoCgovt. Let's see what the conference does last chance 2B brave.

As I was alluding on this platform about a year ago over a refreshing bowl of Maggi Soup, embedding advertising in natural seeming conversations is pretty inevitable when extracting maximum value from the systems where there are no consumer guard-rails around quality or truth.
The end goal of advertising is to make it indistinguishable from one’s own wants and needs. That aim is finally going to be realized very soon.

We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.
