In this episode, I walk through Git concepts using admin language, not developer jargon, and show how commits and rollback actually work in a way that reduces risk instead of adding complexity.

Oftentimes I’m asked by non-Minnesotans how we stand living with our harsh winters in Minnesota.

I hope the country has seen over this past month that Minnesotans, while generally reserved by nature, generate a warmth of community.

It’s that simple.

Last week, my office released the following consumer alert on how Minnesotans can protect their digital privacy from DHS agents.

I urge all Minnesotans to take steps to protect themselves online from the federal government’s overreach and lawlessness.

There's a whole lotta really bad stuff happening right now, but one thing I personally look forward to is sharing info at and being part of an outstanding endpoint management community at the @mmsmoa.bsky.social event coming up in May. #mmsmoa

It’s the people.

Honest conversations, shared wins (and challenges), and a community that actually shows up for each other. That’s what makes the experience last.

Hi. MN getting a lot of attention right now.

Do NOT underestimate weather’s potential to absolutely BREAK people here, especially new-to-towners.

When it snows hard, drops to way below zero, everything frozen, it can make you stop functioning. Horrify and immobilize you. Changes EVERYTHING.

Minnesotans: The MN National Guard is on standby and distinguishable by high-visibility reflective vests. This is how Guard members are identified vs federal agents, who do not wear these vests. Knowing the difference matters for public safety.
Please share.

Not a "hometown river" per se, but I grew up almost literally on the banks of the Minnesota River (in the "river bottom"). On the portion of land not ceded (the reservation) in the Treaty of Traverse des Sioux, July 23, 1851, but later taken (~1863) following the US-Dakota war.
RT with your hometown river:

I can sing mine! 🎶On the banks of the Red Cedar...🎶
It may not be a river per se, but the Erie Canal. My hometown is one of the small towns that grew up around the canal in the 1800s and I used to walk along the canal when my parents lived in their old house.

Just. Ugh.

Stay strong, stand firm, Twin Cities friends.
By the end of next week, there will be over 3,000 federal agents across CBP, ICE, and DHS in the Twin Cities metro. That's more than 3x the number of sworn officers in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
Federal immigration officers are pulling out of a Louisiana crackdown and heading to Minneapolis in an abrupt pivot from an operation that drew protests around New Orleans and aimed to make thousands of arrests, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

This is important. We have been rocked by a murder but while we respond to that it’s crucial to understand that ICE is still flooding our streets, raiding businesses and terrorizing and snatching Minnesotans, regardless of immigration status. We are under siege in real time.
I hope folks outside of Minnesota know that federal agents are continuing to run rampant - in residential neighborhoods, at businesses, across our communities - terrorizing already traumatized people for no discernible reason other than causing fear and chaos.

It's putting all of us in danger.
