Mike Walz absolutely nailed it in his state of the state address:

“Let’s be real clear about something: If you say you love freedom, but you don’t believe in freedom for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom – it’s privilege.”
So are we saying that, putting aside some clumsy editing, Trump *didn’t* try to incite the Jan 6th insurrection?

Wasn’t this already proven?

In what way has the Panorama programme changed anything?

When are bins?
A radio programme like the Shipping Forecast but it’s called Bin Day and it just reads out every single council in the country’s bin schedule

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

Bookselling friends. Sad news if you’ve not heard, the very wonderful @feexby.bsky.social has gone to the great Dr Who/The Archers mashup in the sky. He was a wonderful, warm, brilliant, very clever & very funny man. My latter contact with him was all on socials but I was glad to have him in my life

Tories appoint a Tory to be DG of the BBC. Turns out he and his team can’t tell the truth.

The Farage starts bumping his gums about the end of the BBC and you have to wonder if there’s any degree of coordination.

I’m sure no one in Tufton Street is disappointed.

The AI generated Christmas Coca Cola advert is creepy as hell isn’t it?

It’s OK @thegodpodcast.com. Eric Trump is here to save you.
Eric Trump, "We're saving Christianity. We're saving God. We're saving the family unit. We're saving the nation. DEI is out the window"

"People can coexist with one another without having top pick up arms and destroy one another, other than for incompetence and egotistical governments"

I’m keeping this as a memento of happier times. Only six minutes to go but Scotland still lost.

Scotland vs New Zealand is not available on terrestrial TV lest, by watching, we jinx it.

Just thinking about the 50th anniversary of both the Sex Pistols and Bohemian Rhapsody.

In 1975 when both were brand new we were celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Great Gatsby, Prokofiev’s Symphony no. 2, Shostakovich’s Symphony no. 1 and Louis Armstrong’s first solo recordings

This is magnificent
Dream last night involved destroying a haunted and malevolent computer by powering it with energy from hell rather than connecting it to the national grid and then tricking it into travelling through an interdimensional portal. A greater person would make a novel or comic out of that

Had to tell a new colleague that I’d prefer to not be called Matt. Why do people assume you’ll want your name to be something it isn’t. If I want to be called Matt, I’ll sign my emails that way.
He fucked around. He found out. Blocked.

Who am I kidding. He’s going to buy civil war in the UK so he doesn’t look even more of a dick.

I have a low opinion of anyone who says "no offense but".

It's up there (down there) with "just sayin'".

File alongside: "Unsolicited advice on social media is always intended as criticism".

Even if you do hate spiders…

This is such a good book. 99p is a total bargain even if it is just the (gags) ebook.

Some years ago I made up a bunch of Halloween jokes for my kids to use when out guising. They did not use them.

1. I’ve been washing the Mummy’s bandages for hours. I’ve just finished though so that’s a wrap.

Not gonna lie, much as I’m not really interested in The PE, here in Scotland it’s nice to see the SPL arranged in an Edinburgh-centric order with Hearts and Hibs 1st and 3rd respectively, Celtic in 2nd and Rangers finally reaching the giddy heights - for them - of 5th
