Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

Any “deal” that ends with Dems just getting a pinky promise in return is a mistake.
The American people are suffering because Republicans refuse to stop healthcare costs from skyrocketing. An agreement that doesn’t fix that reality falls massively short.

Why is no one talking about it? Where's the media? Where's the public outcry? Another example of the pervasive nature of ableism and how society views disabled people as expendable.

Those protestors know their assignment. What ICEBP agents are trying to do is goad them into violence, give Trump reason to impose the Insurrection Act. But these fellas have not taken this bait. That has driven Greg Bovino crazy.
One thing I have marveled at is the way that crowds have been disciplined in capturing immigration enforcement’s lack of discipline.
Chaos erupted in Little Village.

Like I said earlier, this was why this was a play from behind the 🎱 decision, but it was a very good one from Jackson.
KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.
-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.

This is one of those playing from behind the 8 ball scenarios with regard to the SCOTUS move to put a stay on the ruling to distribute SNAP benefits. This thread is a good explainer!
This is actually a pretty standard and unremarkable move, as evidenced by Justice Jackson issuing it.
But most people won't believe that for several good reasons.

#BREAKING: Justice Jackson has issued an "administrative" stay, temporarily pausing a district court order that would've required the USDA to continue using contingency funds to pay SNAP benefits.
The stay expires 48 hours after the First Circuit rules on USDA's request for a stay pending appeal.
