Civ as a game is kind of hilarious to me in how engaging it is, because it almost entirely rests on the strength of the IP—world history.
The sci-fi versions failed because, though the systems are the same, it’s way funnier to say that fascist Harriet Tubman almost won with Railroad Tycoon.
