People are always rightly pointing out that Warhammer contributes more to the British economy than the fishing industry, but the problem is that there just aren't very many folk songs about Warhammer

I think Year of the Bird 4 is my favourite of the 4, and "Semi-prepared remarks for a surprise awards ceremony" is my favourite in the collection. But there's a few others that come close...

More bandcamp travels to come!

In 2018, I travelled to all sorts of places, writing and recording a song a week (with a few weeks off), using field recordings of freight trains, waffle makers, nightingale floors, coqui frogs, and more. The result is a four-album collection called Year of The Bird:

Apple Tree

Written for the podcast The Family Tree, it uses the melody from The Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal, the oldest piece of written music, and paraphrases the Pirkei Avot.

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

Shares please. You have been an incredible light to young dad H and his toddlers—keeping them housed for almost a year has saved them from deadly cold, exposure, shrapnel. For kids, this isn’t trivial. Sit with that impact and keep it going.

They still need that support.

I'm excited for Limp Bizkit, but I'm a little worried about Antifa...
Question
I'm sick and tired of seeing these thugs terrorize big events and am worried that they will try to interrupt Limp Bizkit's set. My gf (F19) and I (M31) are going to our first Lollapalooza and are concerned about the growing threat around the city

In short season 10 of @withinthewires.bsky.social needs some music! It's the final season too, which is sad because @happierman.bsky.social and @j9andif.bsky.social are BRILLIANT colleagues and this has been a really wonderful world to be part of. <3

Once a year, the lesser-spotted Mary Epworth manages to drag herself into a Logic session, to actually record some new music. Today is that day.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.
