Yesterday I attended the official opening of the West Ham Foundry, a new home to the West Ham Foundation’s work in our community.

It was wonderful to see this long awaited project open and already full of local people enjoying the space, , pitch and brand new cafe.

The best part about supermarket surgeries has got to be using the tannoy system – as well as all the surprising and fun conversations! Thanks to everyone who popped by to say hello in Morrison’s last week!

I met with Hospice UK in Parliament this morning to mark Hospice Care Week. As I said last week, our hospices do vital and irreplaceable work, and we need to support hospices like Severn Hospice and Hope House Children’s Hospice - both with resources and reform to make them sustainable.

Had a great visit to Pitcheroak School recently! 😊📚

Big thanks to Headteacher Neil Clapham and the amazing staff for the warm welcome – such a dedicated and passionate team. It was really uplifting to see how much thought and care goes into supporting every single student.

Fair Funding must work for Wandsworth.

Today, I pressed the Minister to ensure housing and children’s services are properly accounted for in the review of council funding.

It’s so important for children to experience reading in an enjoyable way.

I spoke to BBC Politics North about how Labour’s plan to ensure every primary school has a library will boost our children’s life chances 📚

Nigel Farage could never be trusted to run Britain after getting Brexit so wrong'.

Brexit is the biggest self-harm. UK economy hasn't recovered.

Farage, the part-time MP, collects millions from 2nd/3rd jobs, full time MP pay+exps; often missing from the Commons.

Pushes hatred to grab power.
'Farage could never be trusted to run Britain after getting Brexit so wrong'
No Brexit champion, particularly Nigel Farage, is worthy of high office after proving so conclusively wrong on such a seismic issue, says Mirror Associate Editor Kevin Maguire

Super busy Pint with your MP tonight at the Newcome Arms in Fratton. Thanks to all those who came along to discuss teacher retention, access to health services, skills, sewage and more!

I’ll be following up actions and taking issues raised to Parliament.

Good doorknocking session in Dennistoun with Cllr McDougall.

Nice to have such positive feedback on the work we've done to help people in the community and a few more issues were raised about private factors.

The Buffalo Bill statue marks the spot where he performed in 1891! 🦬

This Labour Government will back young people at every step.

A new guarantee will mean more placements for those out of work and education for 18+ months, plus a bold skills target: 2/3 of young people in uni, further education or gold-standard apprenticeships.

Greet to be out with Slade Green & Northend Labour Councillors and volunteers yesterday discussing a range of issues. Lots of support for recent work including the new crossing in Slade Green Road and the campaign to ensure lighting is reinstalled at Slade Green Station footbridge.

Some assorted scenes from a lovely few days off coinciding with the festival of Sukkot. In Judaism, Sukkot is known as "Z'man Simchateinu" (the season of rejoicing) and we are literally commanded to be happy- that's not always easy but this week it has been 🍋🌿💃
In the sukkah (best way I can describe it to the uninitiated is like a big gazebo?) with pals A surprise DJ set from Tim Burgess from The Charlatans BBQ dinner with family and friends A silly selfie with me and my best mate in a mirror we saw in the street that says "ate and left no crumbs" on it

Like me, I know Portsmouth people are growing increasingly frustrated with ongoing delays to the redevelopment of the former Knight & Lee building.

I hope local people and traders will back me in calling on the developer to speed up their plans👇🏻
