I’ll keep working with Pitcheroak and other schools to make sure Redditch gets the facilities and support our young people need and deserve. Proud to support such an inspiring place! 👏🎒
It was brilliant to see how recent community grants are already having an impact – helping to improve the spaces that really make a difference for students and staff.
You can tell they truly celebrate each pupil’s individuality and help them grow into confident, capable adults ready for life beyond school.
Pitcheroak’s all about creating a positive, inclusive space where pupils feel safe, valued, and able to be themselves. They’ve built an environment that encourages confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
Had a great visit to Pitcheroak School recently! 😊📚

Big thanks to Headteacher Neil Clapham and the amazing staff for the warm welcome – such a dedicated and passionate team. It was really uplifting to see how much thought and care goes into supporting every single student.

An update on support for JLR and local jobs 👇
Support for JLR and Local Jobs

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make the case for urgent Government support to protect jobs here in Redditch and across the West Midlands.

Tonight, I’m pleased to share that the Government has acted decisively. A £1.5 billion loan guarantee has been announced for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to help stabilise operations and support its supply chain following the recent cyber attack.

Several businesses in Redditch are part of that supply chain and have been directly affected by the disruption. This support will give them the certainty they need and help safeguard local jobs.

The guarantee, delivered through the Export Development Guarantee (EDG) and backed by UK Export Finance, will unlock commercial loans repayable over five years, giving JLR and its suppliers the breathing space to recover and rebuild.

This evening, I met with West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker to hear first-hand about the action being taken to protect jobs and defend our region’s industrial base. This also forms part of the Government’s wider Industrial Strategy and Plan for Change, aimed at supporting British industry, driving investment, and protecting skilled manufacturing jobs.

After what has been a shameless and damaging cyber attack on one of our most important employers, this support is both timely and necessary. I’ll keep doing everything I can to support our workers, local businesses, and communities.
📢 £20m secured for Greenlands & Woodrow over the next decade
£2m a year for skills, youth services, safer streets & community spaces.
Most important? YOU decide how it’s spent. Your voice will shape our future.
Had a brilliant evening with Woodrow Guides & Redditch Rangers 🙌.
The girls asked inspiring questions about politics, democracy & community, showing real passion for making change in Redditch.

Visited Southcrest Woodland with the Woodland Trust to highlight why protecting Redditch's ancient woodlands matters. These vital habitats face real threats - restoring them is key for wildlife, our climate and future generations.
I am glad to see this recognition will not be conditional and that the UK will recognise the state of Palestine and continue to call for the hostages on both sides to be released and for an immediate ceasefire.
It is an essential building block for a fair and lasting peace. Britain has a responsibility to play its part and this step is a vital milestone on that path.
Many of you have written to me about this issue, showing the strength of local feeling.
I was proud to stand with colleagues and Ambassador Zomlot to demonstrate our commitment to this important decision. Recognition alone will not end the conflict.
This week, I was proud to meet with Ambassador Husam Zomlot, Head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK. Recognition of Palestine is a long overdue step. It sends a clear message that the Government is serious about supporting peace, justice and security for both Palestinians and Israelis.

Joined West Midlands & Merseyside MPs in writing to the Business Secretary on the JLR shutdown. With 200k supply chain jobs at risk, Govt must act fast - whether through loans, targeted furlough or other support - to protect workers, businesses & our vital automotive industry.
Met Industry Minister Chris McDonald on the serious JLR cyber attack that’s halted global production & hit local supply chains. I’m working with businesses & unions to ensure Govt action - our priority must be protecting workers & families as we get the sector moving again.
