In 2025 I'm going to post more videos of dangerous driving that I witness when out riding my bike. These will be incidents that I don't report to @policescotland.bsky.social because the reporting system is antiquated & time consuming & the courts don't take them seriously I'll use #DNRPoliceScotland

True, although they are arguing that there are few incidents in our village... which must mean 'it's never going to happen'. Trying to explain exposure, injury/death rates by distance travelled etc is probably a lost cause...

It will happen, but the more people like you there are the slower overall these roads will become!
magnatom.bsky.social
At first I read that as, you had 300 tickets! 😱

...would take 1 min 40 seconds (we are assuming they don't speed ...). That's an extra 34 seconds. They will get held up at the traffic lights (yes we have a set) much longer than that on average, yet I'm sure they are OK to have traffic lights.
The arguments against 20mph hold no water except...

In my village (Torrance) there is a proposal for 20mph speed limits. As expected there is a backlash to this. One of the main arguments is the delays it will cause. So let's examine this. The main road through Torrance is 0.58 miles long. At 30mph that would take 1 min 10 secs. At 20mph that ...

It's funny how just after 20mph speed limits are introduced to an area that suddenly everyone realises that it's not cyclists who are the lawbreakers...(Without actually consciously realising it).
magnatom.bsky.social
I honestly don't think 20 mph is hard to do.
magnatom.bsky.social
It needs to be enforced. Mind you every study I've seen does suggest there is an overall decrease.

Ha. It's a 360 camera mounted under my saddle. Specifically an Insta360 X5.

Unfortunately in Scotland to report incidents like this you need to phone and book a home visit which often gets delayed. It's very time consuming. As a result I only report the worse. #DNRPoliceScotland means I Did Not Report. We need online reporting.

WARNING: This horrific video by a war correspondent reporting from the front lines of war ravaged Portland is not for the squeamish. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣👇

I actually felt compelled to thank a driver for keeping to the 20mph speed limit tonight. Compliance is almost non-existent. ☹️

Most of the roads (inc this one) are 20mph in Bearsden now. The speed limits don't apply to this van driver (SA70HGO). Thus, they have no issue with overtaking two cars and a cyclist (doing close to 20mph) at probably over 40mph. #DNRPoliceScotland (the toots were the following driver warning me).

Strictly speaking, as I'm not a motorised vehicle, I think that's ok. Everything else is wrong!

And I'm not sure it'll be at the right angle. Will check though.

I have some but I'm not sure they will be wide enough. I'll need to have another look this week.

Is that not a clip removal tool? I've got some of those but not sure they'd work for this. In fact I think the direction of the notches would be at 90 degrees to these.

Hi DIY BleSky... I want to take this mixer valve out (first to find out what type it is and to turn replace it, because I believe cold is flowing through to the hot). It looks like it's held by a lock nut. I'm guessing a tool will fit the notches? Any idea what tool? I think it was Howden installed.
A picture of a mixer valve in my bathroom.

We’re looking for your views on our plans to improve provision for walking, wheeling and cycling along Dundee Street and in the wider Fountainbridge area.

The consultation is open until 12 January 2026.

I'm no mechanic though, so it was just a guess. Definitely want to know what it is now!!

Oh wait, it's making some noise when you pedal as well. Hmm . I'd still suspect the freewheel.
