I didn't vote for Feinstein in her last primary because of any supposed machine. I voted for her because she was heroic in a crisis (Moscone/Milk assassinations) and had a pretty good record as Senator and de Leon was trash.

I don't think the talent in CA has been wasted. We got Newsom as gov, Harris was AG, then Senator, then VP, Padilla is not very old (52), etc. Who specifically are you thinking of when you say a generation was wasted?

You asked where the young people were in Maine so I answered. In CA, Feinstein should have quit but the fact is the last time she ran in the primary her main opponent was trash so she won easily.

Maine only has two representatives in Congress and obviously two Senators. There aren't a lot of high-profile young people coming along because there are so few seats. Jared Golden is young but he's not what most Democrats would consider a good one.

A poll this far out is meaningless anyway. He's unvetted and unknown. Politics ain't beanbag, as they say. Let him survive the rough and tumble of a contested primary (oh noes! we're supposed to clear his path) and a general election campaign before calling him electable.

This is extremely disturbing as it's a thing I sometimes eat and it's supposed to be a great source of omega-3's. Maybe the good stuff comes from the gross stuff? I'd prefer to think the worst of it goes into cat food...who am I kidding?

But here we've been worrying about a super intelligent computer that would take over and AI is just a hallucinating plagiarism machine that can be extremely stupid at time. It's still something to worry about but not in the ways we imagined.

When Judge Immergut ruled against him saying his description of Portland was untethered from reality, he got mad at the people who suggested her, said they were incompetent. It's never that the shit he tries to do is wildly illegal, nope, it's those communist judges appointed by <checks notes> him.

When they used "Zionism" as a slur, supporting genocide against Jews.

When they lied that a war in Gaza was "genocide" & called Jews Nazis.

When there was silence about murders in DC and Boulder.
