I think there must have been a massive lack of communication between the folks working on the game, and it shows in how carelessly they treat continuity or anything that people could be conceivably invested in from the prequel

They legit just said “the shiekah stuff went poof, no one knows why”

Yeah that’s partly what we mean by “disrespectful”, they don’t care about the world they built the damn game on top of, and the amiibo stuff just being sprinkled around in the depths just makes no fucking sense and feels cheap. It makes you realize there’s nothing to be excited for.
