Read this thread.

It's exactly right. But also note on the internet related stories—the banning of TikTok and the attack on Sec 230—Democrats happily helped MAGA accomplish their goals and people have cheered it on.

Democrats trying to destroy 230 are not helping you. They're helping Trump.
There’s a specific mechanism in authoritarian movements that we’re seeing play out in real-time across American media and tech. It’s a simple rule: "If we cannot co-opt it, we must destroy it."

It is the logic of "scorched earth." It's the logic of the Nero Decree and it's happening right now. 🧵

Seeing Hot Fuzz late in its run in a discount theater. Super lively crowd (in a good way) with lots of laughter.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Seems bad! And I really worry that it's going to get worse. (Side note: the study analyzed electronic medical record data from Epic Systems’ Cosmos database) www.nbcnews.com/health/kids-...

The City of Verona City Council voted to continue flying the Progress Pride flag on City flag poles for another year. I supported this of course. My remarks below (they were partially in response to other speakers, so hopefully they make sense by themselves lol) www.youtube.com/live/XYLXSfz...

So great to have a Congressperson who recognizes the importance of food pantries like the Badger Prairie Needs Network, and advocates for making sure our neighbors have enough food.
I spent yesterday volunteering at Badger Prairie Needs Network. Even before the cuts to SNAP passed by Congressional Republicans and signed by President Trump take effect, they’ve seen a 40% increase in demand.

It's a wonder anyone is allowed to drive at all "12/2 at 3:14 p.m. – A 20-year-old woman from Madison fell asleep while driving and went off the roadway and into a yard in the 500 block of South Main Street. She was towed out and cited for inattentive driving." www.veronawi.gov/CivicAlerts....

From wrong-way adventures to surprise yard visits, it’s been quite the week in Verona! Remember: naps belong in beds, not behind the wheel, and flashing reds aren’t optional.

This is outrageous.

Today’s vote guts newborn hepatitis B protections, ignores decades of science, and puts politics over kids’ health.

I’m a mom, nurse, and former CDC officer — and we need leaders who defend public health, not dismantle it.

Wisconsinites are loud and clear: life is too expensive.

Health premiums are rising. Subsidies are on the chopping block. Families are stretched thin.

We can fix it — with real leadership that puts people first, not politics.
For voters in the swing state of Wisconsin, affordability is top of mind
A recent NPR/PBS News/Marist poll found nearly 6-in-10 voters say President Trump's top priority should be lowering prices. That concern is being expressed loudly in the swing state of Wisconsin.

It's kind of incredible that this feigned ignorance response works on the media.
Q: You outlined the dangers posed by drugs. So what explanation do you have for Trump pardoning the former president of Honduras?

SEN. ROGER MARSHALL: I don't know the details. Happy to look into it. I can't speak to it

Q: Alright. Um. Ok. Like, no thought on it?

MARSHALL: I haven't researched it

It's simple geometry. Need to move a large amount of people in a narrow space? It's going to be some kind of rail. light rail, trams, elevated, subways etc. any is good. Busses a good medium to fill out the places the track can't reach. A light rail network for Madison<->suburbs would be a dream!

Before anyone is allowed to comment on transportation in Madison, they ought to sign an affidavit acknowledging that they understand that Madison is built on an Isthmus.
