Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor. Wife. Proud mom. Nurse. Running for governor to fight for affordability, opportunity, and the future Wisconsin deserves.

New here? Welcome! I’m Sara Rodriguez, Lt. Governor of Wisconsin and candidate for governor. With your support, I’m going to beat the Republican nominee and get to work: lowering prices of health care, child care, and housing, bringing down utility bills, and fixing our broken property tax system.
This picture breaks my heart. This is not a criminal, this is someone’s kid. Another reason we need accountability for ICE, now.
ICE agents in Minnesota detained at least four children from the same school district, including a 5-year-old, deepening skepticism about the Trump administration’s claims of targeting violent criminals. https://wapo.st/4sQVmpA

53 years after Roe v. Wade, reproductive freedom is still under attack here in Wisconsin and across the country. As governor, I will fight to codify reproductive rights so families aren’t living one court ruling or election away from losing care.

Small businesses keep Wisconsin running and they deserve a government that has their back. Tonight in Milwaukee, I’ll be talking about how as governor I’ll lower prices, support small businesses, and work hand-in-hand with Main Street.
January 21, 2026 at 11:02 PM
After traveling all 72 counties – three times — one thing is clear: small business owners are being asked to shoulder too much. Rising health care costs, child care, energy bills, taxes all add up.

We can do better. And I’m ready to lead that work as governor.

Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by committing to the work he called us to do.

Showing up. Fixing what’s broken. Building a Wisconsin where opportunity is real and shared, and where dignity and respect are non-negotiable.

We can’t look at what’s happening in Minnesota and hope it won’t happen here. Wisconsin needs clear rules, accountability, and leadership — now. That’s why I spoke out. 👇

Democrats win by putting in the miles, listening to people where they live, and offering bold ideas that actually lower prices and make people’s lives better. That’s the campaign we’re running. One county, one conversation, one solution at a time.

Wisconsin doesn’t need more division or uncertainty. We need leadership that lowers prices, restores trust, and puts people first.

That’s why I’m running for governor — and that’s the work I’ll do every day.

Tom Tiffany's failure in Washington is forcing families to make impossible choices.

People don’t drop coverage because they’re healthy. They drop it because they can’t afford it.

It doesn’t have to be this way. As governor, I’ll fight to make sure Wisconsinites can afford health care.
Fewer Wisconsinites sign up for Obamacare coverage as costs spike
For many, the cost of coverage through the Affordable Care Act has more than doubled, largely driven by the loss of expanded subsidies.

I’m in this race to make life better for the people of Wisconsin, who are working hard but still feeling squeezed by rising costs of groceries, health care, child care, and housing. With your help, we’re building a campaign with the resources to beat @tomtiffanywi in November.

I’m proud of young people using their voices across Wisconsin.

No student should be afraid to go to school because of what’s happening outside the classroom. That’s why I’m calling for statewide protections for schools and other sensitive locations.

ICE activity is increasing in Wisconsin.

We must protect our communities, demand accountability, and uphold the rule of law.

I’m asking lawmakers and local leaders to act before it’s too late:

People in Wisconsin deserve to feel safe going about their daily lives. We shouldn’t be afraid to drop our kids off at school, seek medical care, go to court, or attend worship.

Everywhere I go in Wisconsin, I hear the same thing: housing costs are too high and supply is too low. We need real solutions so families can afford to own a home in the communities they love.

The path to winning statewide in November runs through rural, suburban, and urban Wisconsin.

That’s how this campaign is built — and why we’re positioned to win.

This campaign is about making sure Wisconsinites can afford:

1️⃣Healthcare
2️⃣Housing
3️⃣Childcare
4️⃣Education

Without breaking the bank or going into debt.

TomTiffany just voted against lowering your health care costs (again).

My heart is with Minnesota today, and with everyone trying to make sense of something that never should have happened. What we’re seeing — with our own eyes — is deeply wrong. We cannot normalize this. We cannot explain it away. It has to stop.
January 7, 2026 at 11:57 PM
We’ve normalized things that should never be normal.

Families working full time and still choosing between child care and rent. Parents choosing between prescriptions and school supplies.

Wisconsin can — and must — do better.

Grateful to earn the support of Brookfield Common Council Member Michael Hallquist.

Local leaders know what their communities need. As governor, I’ll always keep them at the table — and deliver results for Wisconsin.
January 7, 2026 at 12:35 AM
In 2026 we will elect a governor and legislature who will make Wisconsin more affordable for the people that live here.

Health care people can actually use, child care working families can count on, and housing people can afford.
January 6, 2026 at 1:30 AM
When health care costs go up, rent gets harder to pay.
When child care costs explode, job choices shrink.
When prescriptions cost too much, people skip care.

The systems squeezing us are all connected — and we can fix them.
Sara Rodriguez's Case for Fixing What's Breaking Us
People pull Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez aside and start with the same categories of unease: the prescription they now stretch longer than intended, the childcare bill that exceeds the rent, the insurance premium that jumped again...

We can’t keep waiting for Washington DC to fix health care. As a nurse, I’ve seen what happens when coverage becomes unaffordable. I believe Wisconsin can — and should — lead with solutions that protect families no matter what’s happening in DC.
