Analog games being largely a social medium covers a lot of warts in design. You can play a miserable game and have fun with your friends. Likewise, you can play a great game with the wrong people and walk away unhappy.
So maybe, just write and publish that game anyway, and stop doubting yourself?

This is the number one issue I find with junior game designers (and unfortunately, non-designers who think anyone can design). So many people cannot tell the difference between "a game I like" and "a game that's designed well" and they get REAL mad if you point out there's a difference

I'm sad I missed so many people at PAXU, but if you're into indie TTRPGs and not stopping by Games on Demand to play a game and meet the passionate people there, I kinda question your commitment. We had 115 indie tabletop games this weekend across 31 tables.
