When growing up I learned to refer to the clergyman in charge of my Episcopal church as a minister. In the past probably 20 or so years (I'm in my mid 50s) I've encountered "priest" applied to Episcopal clergy more and more and it never fails to make my brain hiccup - even when I use it myself.

I did! I started some indoors, but I don’t think any of them survived transplanting. We had a really wet spring. These zinnias were directly sown.

I’ve got a new flower bed that I’m filling with red-flowering plants and these zinnias have done stupendously well. Can’t wait for next year after the perennials have had a chance to get settled in. 🌱

3. procedural agressiveness
4. end ICE
5. trans rights

Serious books bum us out, fun books feel like they're not addressing THE TIMES. Getting something that's both is impossible. Writers are cranking out novels to please their agents, and agents are sending them unedited, and no one is answering anyone's emails because we're really, really tired.

It really can't be said enough: the goal of the "anti-woke" movement was always to destroy social norms against bigotry. And it worked. And there's a whole lot of purportedly "left" thinkers & commentators who helped it -- indeed, it couldn't have been done without them.
