First batch of Advent calendars is on the way to you from our office! Have you ordered yours? ⚓️

(These are actual Advent calendars, not product sales gimmicks. You can color your way through the season of Advent.)

Post your plans on here, and we’ll all tell you what we think 🤪

Lay people and clergy can pray the office once, twice, or more! And I know lay folks and clergy who pray with all those frequencies. So whatever you decide, don’t let ordination or lack thereof sway your practice.

Yes, if you have two lessons and MP and EP, you use the “other year” OT lesson in the evening. I read Jeremiah this morning!

Also, the end of the lesson is 12/10

“But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”

Wow. Evening prayer reading from Micah is…real.

“Their hands are upon what is evil, to do it diligently; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.”

There’s also an ebook version of the SAPB from @forwardmovement.org. No leather there, either.

Air travel provides endless wonder. Just look at this (blurry) sunset!

* But WHERE are the stores…

My kingdom for an edit button!

You don’t usually see vestment stores in airports. But there are the stores for cassocks and amices? ⚓️

An excellent morning at the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany. Lots of great stuff happening there — in a massive and glorious building. ⚓️

First time I’ve ever seen a helipad at an Episcopal conference center. Makes me think I could reimagine my travel style

Oh, look, I have a new friend here in the Diocese of Albany.

That, or the bishop can write to him directly. He certainly reads all his email from bishops.

If you're willing to share your pretty slides, we'd love to help others! (We used to have slides, but they disappeared in staff transition maybe 10 years ago)

And I'm glad the materials are helpful. That's why we made them -- to help busy clergy teach well and free up time for other stuff.

Why are you blessing @forwardmovement.org? I mean, thank you!

Ben Myers’ book, The Apostles’ Creed, is mostly good. It’s a reformed take, but generally aligned with what ECUSA would teach. Can’t recommend it though because he strongly teaches universalism. YMMV

But the tone/style of the book is excellent.

Yes, good inputs to digest

At a time when we’re all facing steep headwinds, it’s important to be future-facing

Call ended, but not before a promise to keep everyone in the loop and circle back
