The veneration of Books As Objects misses the point entirely. If you're reading a book, turn the corners down, break the spine, spill soup on it. It's your book, go nuts. A pristine, unread book is a tragedy in a way that a beloved, much-read book that looks like the dog's been at it could never be.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

The Faroe Islands locker room was quite rightly hyped after the territory of just 55,000 people stunned the Czech Republic 2-1 🥳

It’s their third straight World Cup win, arguably the biggest in their history, and leaves the Faroes one point off a World Cup play-off spot. Truly remarkable 🇫🇴

In news you probably haven't heard because it doesn't involve Trump or Gaza:

All 18 missing individuals are now assumed dead after yesterday's munitions plant explosion in Tennessee

....which is to pretty much what everyone expected, because "it's just gone"
Holy... 😬
Its vaporized..
Last, but not least, the #webcomic of "With the Band" by TadaKiba has, during today's update, had its entry added to the #CameoArchive (crossovers.dragoneers.com) 's ever growing list of #webcomics crossing over and cameoing each other! 😁

Several cameos from other #webcomics have been reported spotted in the #webcomic of "The Crystal Lotus Chronicles" by @bluedragonart.bsky.social , giving it a quickly added and updated entry in the #CameoArchive (crossovers.dragoneers.com) ! 😎

I really enjoyed the 2nd Season of #Peachmaker, almost as much as the first, but the last episode really let me down.

It felt like the season ended with the second to last episode, and the whole last episode was just an after-credits addition, hinting at future things and leaving them all open...
You never know where a historical treasure trove will show up!
“Thanks to the solidity of bearded vulture nest structures and their locations in the western Mediterranean… they have acted as [ #archivists], conserving historical material in good condition."

A shoe made from twigs and grass is 675 y.o. while a basket in the nest was woven about 150 years ago!!
I’m okay with both 😁
A cameo from another webcomic has recently been spotted in the #webcomic of "Evil Inc." by @bradguigar.com. This means its time to update the comic's entry in the #CameoArchive (crossovers.dragoneers.com) ! 😎

I'm too exhausted to make any tapestry #puns here; talk among yourselves about it.

Been involved with the project of establishing a food court in one of the local malls, and almost being done I just spotted this detail in the newly established bathroom area... 😀
Gotta love sundress and easy access 😁

Mort Walker integrated “Beetle Bailey" when Lt. Flap came to Camp Swampy 55 years ago, on October 5, 1970. Here’s the week of his debut:
I read the comic for a time but stopped because shit got too much for me… as far as I remember its the first time I’ve done that with a running webcomic as I tend to stay on the burning train until it reach end station or stops updating, whatever comes first.

So… it was that bad

This is INCREDIBLE. The Bearded Vulture has multigenerational nests that last for hundreds of years, built in very secluded places — and they’re FULL OF ANTHROPOGENIC ARTIFACTS.
super cool study found human artifacts in Bearded vulture nests, incl. "weaponry like a crossbow bolt and wooden lance, decorated sheep leather, and parts of a slingshot....a shoe made from twigs and grass is ~675-years-old." link to paper: doi.org/10.1002/ecy..... www.popsci.com/environment/... 🧪🌍🦉
