People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!

Also important in phase 1 of first #edit: sometimes I read it out loud. I listen to rhythm, cadence, etc. I want the story to flow as it should, with properly placed short or loud bursts like slow baroque music that carries the reader downriver.

My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

OK, I don't need it. I wanted it and maybe it was what I needed at that moment. I'm over it now but still add something to it now and then.
