omg are LLMs a type of antimemetic SCP
I really believe generative AI is a cognitohazard to an entire column of humanity. I don't know, there's a something it fucking does to people that displaces their own entirely-capable cognition and independence, further they seemingly cannot perceive the deficits of. This is not a moral argument.

Because you won’t. You think you will and that other people will too but you won’t and they won’t. People hate them.

Just to be blunt, if you want Wired and 404 and The Verge to employ reporters who understand the memes on bullet casings and can connect them to gaming culture while having the legal and support resources to deal with waves of harassment when we do it… you have to subscribe and pay for the work
the entire media ecosystem is just not built or ready for events like this and far right billionaires like larry ellison buying news orgs will only make this worse

Just in case you were hoping to enjoy Gas Works Park today: there’s a hate group holding a rally and they’re looking for a fight, and they brought cops. Stay clear, IMO.
The scene at Gas Works Park at 9am, prior to Sean Feucht and his band of assholes. There is already a police presence and crowd control barricades.

What’s deeply strange is that this was all very well understood as little as five years ago. People talked all the time about training data bias. But then they slapped the label AI on a chatbot and everyone’s got amnesia
