This is a very good... trailer? documentary? mockumentary??

despelote was my favorite game that year and has some masterful experiential design in it. I can't recommend it highly enough and I don't even like sports, but sounds like not many people played it

This looks excellent. Not sure if I can read it just yet, though. I lost my dad to Alzheimer’s less than 2 months ago, and his last few weeks were... not good. It's a brutal and undignified disease.

In fact, she was probably the most difficult person I've ever known. She was difficult to deal with, difficult to communicate with, and difficult, if not impossible, to please. For me – especially the younger version of me – she was a frightening and enigmatic contradiction, only predictable in her unpredictability. She affected a misplaced aristocratic, even snobbish air, such that many, who didn't know her well thought her well educated, or perhaps some sort of blue blood, but she came from a poor, broken Canadian home and never attended college. She strive to appear polished and controlled, though she possessed a virtually unveiled violent temper. She was endlessly critical, overbearing and argumentative. She always acted as if she deserved better, no matter what she was getting. Where did all this come from? At times I still catch myself struggling to figure it out." Excerpt from forgetting, Josh Hickman's memoir about caring for his mother as she declined from dementia: "One evening, she rose from the couch to go to the bathroom, stumbled, wobbled for a long moment, then collapsed in a heap on the carpet. Horrified, I jumped up and examined her, trying to rouse her, but she was unconscious. Panicking, I dragged her by the armpits back onto the couch, noticing she had soiled her underwear. Yanking the underwear off and throwing them in the bathtub, I pulled her sweatpants up and stared into her ashen face. Was she dying? My mind raced as I tried to figure out what to do. For the moment, I handled things myself in lieu of calling 911. Remembering a brief conversation from months carlier, I recalled her vagucly mentioning she had been diagnosed with a heart condition, a diagnosis she had of course brushed off as "bullshit." She had been given a prescription for this which she wasn't taking. The ailment was atrial fibrillation, which can cause sudden tachycardia and subsequent fainting, My mind shot to the incident of her "falling" on the balcony and breaking her wrist. I hurriedly scoured her voluminous medicine closet, found the medication she had shown me, pulled a pill out, then tried to jiggle her awake so I could force it in her mouth. Her eyes finally opened after several tense seconds, widening as she stared blankly at me. As I yelled at her to wake up and take the pill, she gazed at me vacantly, as if she had no idca who I was. Was she having a stroke? My mind raced. I knew strokes were also possible due to blood pooling in the atrium, especially if one..." Still, she claimed that she hadn't understood that we were actually moving to the condo. She said she thought that was just an "idea." I thought it might help her to actually see the boxes and furniture physically leaving the apartment, that it might aid her in comprehending the inevitable was actually happening before her eyes. I figured it might be best to depart the empty apartment together, mysclf, my mother, and Sammy driving last to the new place as it filled up with our belongings."
