None of this is going to make poor, angry, white people less poor or less angry.
"Mahmood said a raft of tough immigration controls were designed to unlock “the inherent openness, tolerance and generosity” of the British people."

Such nauseating shamelessness.

I just had a chat with Grok about how my account on twitter is being throttled back and quite honestly I'm in shock.

Social Media is fucked.

Overshooting 1.5°C wasn't 'inevitable.'

We've been pushed by fossil fuel giants & governments that pander to them.

Every delay, every oil field, every broken promise made this crisis worse.

Keir Starmer, will you promise to leave Rosebank undeveloped?

It's either that John, or have a fair, fit for purpose electoral system. You can see the bind Starmer is in.

What a shame we don't have a leader who would pledge to put country before party.

The residents of Reform UK Party Ltd-run Councils elected them on the basis of finding massive savings, yet Farage’s ‘Party’ has only delivered tax rises, cuts, and plenty of embarrassing headlines.

We're in an endless loop of tactical voting
Apart from the fact that Labour have to improve MASSIVELY and now must think radically.

Tactical voting is essential at the next GE to keep out Reform UK Ltd.

Will I ever get to vote for the party that I actually want to win?

Our electoral system is not fit for purpose

#PRNow
The Caerphilly result is what we need to see everywhere at the next election: people coordinating to vote tactically for parties which seek a fairer, kinder, greener country.
Pushing out both those who have betrayed our trust AND those who seek to exploit that betrayal.

What I don’t understand is why the British press don’t hang Brexit around Nigel Farage’s neck like a stockade.

It was the single worst act of economic self harm in modern British history.

Why doesn’t the British media force him to own that?

She's a fucking idiot. The whole government are.
Why is a Labour Home Secretary perpetuating this myth in The Sun?

Asylum applications in the UK are significantly below the average for all European countries. The only person helped by spreading this falsehood is Nigel Farage

Reform has “undeclared the climate crisis” to try to find savings.
Wow. If only we’d known it was that easy. Don’t like it? Just “undeclare” it. Simples.

The thought of clowns like this in government is just beyond anything remotely sane. Let’s not go there.

How's this for an idea instead of/alongside a wealth tax.

Link a companies profit to the minimum they can pay staff?

£5 million = £20 p/h
£7 million = £26 p/hr

Etc.... not necessarily those numbers but you get my drift.

Gets rid of a lot of the difficulties with a wealth tax.

And yet how many countries have misinformation laws? How many are banning misinformation platforms like X and Facebook?
Misinformation is probably one of the most significant weapons of mass destruction in the world today. It's impossible to know what is and isn't real any more, so we give up, and believe whatever makes us comfortable, becoming ever more polarised and angry, as a species.
