Much of the GOP no longer accepts the rule of law, or the norms of democracy, or the legitimacy of the opposing party.

Enough of the false equivalence.

Let's be very clear.

The Republicans control both houses of Congress and the White House.

So they have the job of bringing a bill that can pass and be signed into law. They have not done that. They have not done their job.

Moreover, they refuse to do it. That's a choice.

The shutdown is theirs.

It's wild that we've reached a point where the President openly admits to firing people for political reasons, and his OMB director tweets about it like it's a victory. This is page one of the authoritarian playbook, happening in plain sight.
