Writer of TV, a graphic novel, and sometimes a substack. I like history but am a fan of not repeating it. Unrealist.

Found this gem of a book from childhood at home. How amazing is this?! And now my daughter loves it - Robot by Jan Pienkowski
Front cover of robot, with big robotic letters and a face. A post card starting dear mom and dad… Image of mum robot cleaning and washing while reading a postcard. A big pop out motor bike for robots. A pop out rocket ship exploding off the page.
I didn’t realise these images were so engrained in my memory!
Ever wondered where all the Cheers title photos are from? I did. And I've gathered everything I can find into this post. That was fun.

Ooh I need to get this! I love her other books.
I visited Kirkcudbright for the first time with its lovely art gallery. Seems like a haven for female artists such as Jesse M King.
Drawing of a female artist at work. Ink. Painting of a clock tower in kirkcudbright by Jesse M King. Vibrant colours. Delicate painting of a woman holding flowers. First pages of a fairy story along side an illustration of a young girl named spook.
No school tomorrow so we’re eating apples in the sunset. Let me know if I got my dates wrong and there is actually school tomorrow.
Same as the time the French police “destroyed” a migrant boat. They gave no context at all for how it was destroyed or what happened to the people on it. Such a jaw dropping lack of humanity that is also terrible journalism.
The headline writer messes up here by saying the question is “where are they?” But Kania is right the real question is why?!
A message from the streets of Glasgow…
A discarded card on a cracked pavement reads: Hope you’re soon back on your feet!
Surreal yeah! I remember lots of signs for Scottish fish and chips and thinking ‘but at home people go to the Italian for a chippy!’ Wish I could be there now! Enjoy!
Ah my first trip to Barga I accidentally arrived in Scottish week! I was ready to seek out my Italian ancestry only to find bagpipes 😂

Things I’ll miss my daughter saying wrong…
Noodles the reindeer
Hunk smash!
Piggy pig (guinea pig)
Buona potato (Buon appetito)
Bubbles (her own invention for a fart)
I’ve found my new favourite mug. Me and feathers are going to have some great tea breaks together.
Achieved a holiday this year. As a freelancer! Still can’t believe it, and got this memento to remind me.
A brightly coloured illustration of an Italian woman with a Venetian mask and 6 arms all holding Italian items. The most Italian woman ever!

I love this so much. I have no idea how it got on my phone or who made it.
As it’s impossible to see a woman over 40 achieve anything, it’s good to use art to imagine it.
Glasgow’s latest mural, located at 1198 Govan Road, depicts and honours Mary Barbour who brought together tenants from Govan and Partick to campaign for rent freezes during the First World War.

Designed by artist Jeks and commissioned by SWG3’s Yardworks GRID and the LHA.
Have you heard of infinity train? Truly mind bending and full of surprises. Unfortunately wiped from all streamers but I can get you a link to all seasons 😉

I had a wee chat with a stranger today because I stopped and took a pic of this mural. It’s at the maternity hospital where my daughter was born. We both talked about how much we like it. It made a sunny day brighter.

Kenmure Street, Glasgow. Four years ago.

Ordinary people stopped what they were doing to protect their neighbours. No strangers.

Happy Kenmure Street Day ✊
