Ori loves you. He softly reminds you to maybe stretch a bit maybe, go get something decent to eat, fill up your water and try and look to the sky tonight if you can. Sunshine is annoyed but nevermind her.
2 cats lay intertwined in a basket . One has his head upside down back looking at you with wide eyes. The other cute cat being snuggled doesn’t care about us - she looks away and seems annoyed. 🐈‍⬛

The thing about Nazis is their speech is all hate speech, all of it, not free speech, because Nazism is predicated on violence and contemporary Nazism is predicated on knowing about genocide and approving of it and wanting to do it again.

This isn't a new insight, but: the people who are always ready to put a Black teenager on trial as an adult sure do like extending the "youth will be youth" excuse in other contexts— not just to college students like Kavanaugh, but to, e.g., 35-year-olds on a Young Republicans group chat.

Let’s do this here in Canada. They hold us hostage with our love for our pets.
I absolutely agree with this👇🏼👇🏼

Vets bills have rocketed by 50-60% since 2015 was £1,000 to have a bad tooth out for our dog (doesn’t cost anyway near that for humans) and with other treatment despite insurance we got a £3,000 bill

A driver has been Corporations buying up vets to fleece owners❗️😡
Vets should be made to publish prices, competition watchdog says
Vet prices have risen at nearly twice the rate of inflation, the Competition and Markets Authority found.

I survived the "Hallway to Hell"! All of the nurses and Docs were angels but stretchers in the hallway with no bathrooms or call bells, lights on all night, and doors banging open and shut all night in a "civilized country"? Do better. #yxe

No matter what you say we won't obey.
Gonna hold a revolution now, king,
And we're gonna run it all our way,
With no more kings...

And I use the metaphor of a parent and child very intentionally because paternalism is a core value for anyone who believes white supremacy is a morally superior system of social organization.

They truly think we should be thanking them for all their domination.

I think we need to talk more about entitlement in the “do fascists feel shame?” debate.

Fascists aren’t ashamed of oppressing people. But they do feel entitled to adoration for their oppression.

When we reject them, they act like an abusive parent, mortified that their kids don’t really love them.
some colleagues have suggested to me that shame is irrelevant because the people on the "other side" don't know or care what "we" (on whatever "this side") think of them. I have...not gotten that impression
"disliking me is persecution" describes so incredibly many people's entire outlook these days defector.com/free-press-r...

Hernandez's parents worked on farms.

She hoped her print would "unmask the truth behind the wholesome figures of agribusiness" and show the health dangers faced by agricultural workers.

Sun Mad, 1982
Ester Hernández, b. 1944
Chicana and American with Mexican and Yaqui heritage

#SixtiesSurreal
Screenprint that looks like a red box of Sunmaid raisins that is changed to show a skeleton dressed as the Sunmaid holding a basket of grapes in front of yellow sun.
The box says: SUN MAD RAISINS, UNNATURALL GROWN WITH INSECTICIDES, MITICIDES, HERBICIDES, FUNGICIDES
Museum text:
Much of Hernandez's work is informed by the challenges of rural life, which she learned of firsthand through her parents' experiences working on farms. In this screenprint, the artist replaced the Sun-Maid Raisins mascot with a smiling "mad" skeleton. Hernandez hoped her print would "unmask the truth behind the wholesome figures of agribusiness" by suggesting the health dangers faced by agricultural workers exposed to pesticides. Though created slightly later than many works in this gallery, Hernandez's Sun Mad is part of a history of recognizable figures used to communicate revolutionary ideals during the 1960s and '70s.

Super fun watching the company that made billions claiming “our AI will solve cancer” has pivoted to “our AI will make a bunch of shit that already exists, but worse” and apparently people are still pretending it’s not all a giant grift.
