i still think number theory or combinatorics is the right set-up for teaching proofs in high school bc there's just a lot more kinds of proofs you have to learn to handle there i think. (ofc linear algebra can be used for those areas! but generally a linear algebra class is kind of limited)

at princeton i think learning proofwriting for maths majors is just part of the first year sequence (which is linalg, a little bit of multivariable calc, a little bit of topology, a little bit of differential geometry) but they do teach a number theory proof course for those not intending to major

one of the legacies of the vietnamese invasion of cambodian in 1978-79 is that vietnam commemorates that invasion as 'doing our international duty' usually with the public framing that the cambodian people are grateful for said invasion, which is a fiction you can maintain until social media happens
