Entropy is the enemy. He/Him
Going to give this a shot: I am pretty lonely irl. What are some good ways to make friends as an adult?

“It’s bigger on the inside!”
"Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?"

Audience culture is the worst it's ever been, I swear to god. People forgot how to act. I'm at the theater, trying to enjoy my show, which I've paid GOOD MONEY for, and these two old assholes are in the balcony heckling the life out of the poor bear onstage. Not letting him finish a single joke.

At the risk of inspiring rage, I think AI will continue to be used for work thanks to how even home computers can local LLMs easily. Despite this, I do think that AI companies and their VC backers might not survive the bubble popping

Tony Gilroy better get ready to make a miniseries about Kleya and Vel working with Dedra to find Empire officers after RotJ
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

One thing gnawing at me is how many members of Gen X and Boomers, across America and Britain, will defect to fascism before they accept a more assertive liberalism. The most liberal those Americans I know will accept is Fetterman and Maher. It’s very discouraging.

Unpopular Bluesky opinion time: As someone who lives in a deep red area, I hope conservative alternatives to reactionary politics and Christianity become mainstream soon. I know most of the people around me will never be liberals or progressives. It’s just so lonely being around reactionaries.

I visited a PCA church at the request of my mom yesterday, who was also visiting it for the first time and wanted me to go for her first time. (So she could play matchmaker for me, but I digress.) The pastor there prayed that terrorists in Nigeria would be killed. This is unusual behavior, right?

I have no problem with leftism, even if I would most like democratic socialism. I would, however, like leftists to understand that if they’re going to lead a revolutionary movement, being winsome might be a better strategy than being bullies.

On one hand, I am shocked Brie Larson is putting herself through being the main villain of the right wing nerd YouTube complex again. On the other hand, the money is assuredly great, and she’s probably one of the few people in the cast who has actually played Super Mario Galaxy. I see the appeal.

if you voted in Seattle you gotta make sure your ballot counted now
There are 1,700 ballots that need signature confirmation. That is enough to change the election.

Go. Check. Your. Ballot.

Accessibility features for disabled players. (No, I don’t just mean difficulty options. I mean features for true accessibility features.) Also, you should be able to pause every cutscene without it skipping automatically.

This man is your friend. He fights for freedom.
Listen, my children, as here is unfurled
The story of the sandwich that was hurled
On the 10th of August in ‘25;
What a moment to be alive!

As many chose to look down and duck,
One man decided he had to stand up,
And so he wound up, and said ‘What the f___’
And gave his sandwich a freedom chuck.

I have nothing but deep respect for the Catholicism of my friends and people like Pope Leo. They’re people trying to love God and serve Him faithfully. I absolutely detest the kind of Catholicism we see on display in the NYT today that sees women as being incubators for babies.

We went from critics of Cheney calling him Darth Vader during W’s presidency as an insult to Trump calling Vought that as a compliment for firing federal workers during the shutdown!
It’s bizarre because when I was in my 20s I remember thinking we’d have to have a party when Cheney died, and now it’s actually happened it’s actually left the GOP worse than when he was alive.

Bizarre and hard to know how to process. Bad times.

Cheney’s failures helped lay the groundwork for Trump being able to takeover the GOP. I’m glad he spent what time and influence he had opposing Trump at the end, and I wish he hadn’t been responsible for so many awful things that helped give us Trump.
