I mean, Jews came in fourth place even in the original poem. It was pretty obvious what was coming this time, too.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

In the past plutocrats built public libraries, sponsored university buildings, eradicated diseases, named hospitals after their parents. Now we get this.

As maddening as it was to be a medievalist teaching a course on modern business history, that too was a valuable lesson - read widely, be open to new and challenging experiences, and you'll never know how those seemingly random things might shape you in the future

One of the best lessons I learned in grad school came from being moved to TA for East Asian Business History at the last minute. The professor, Brett Sheehan, was amazing, and he taught me one basic lesson: What's good for big businesses is generally terrible for economies as a whole.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but a day spent reading Agatha Christie in a Scottish Highlands Cottage in front of a crackling fireplace whilst indulging in a plate of emotional support scones will indeed fix you.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is not worthy of your friendship.

A friend who teaches theology shared with me a post about CS Lewis's Mere Christianity, which discusses foundational Christian logic across denominations. It reminded me of Dale's tweet below, and I wanted to share some thoughts here regarding modesty and respectability, which are often hot topics.
