45 years of announcing that this time we’re really going to crack down on the scroungers and moochers, slowly realising this means starving the poor and people who can’t work, then having to lash together yet another fix out of cardboard and pritt stick.
"After this week, perhaps the socialism of Keir Starmer & Rachel Reeves is a little clearer"

Starmer and Reeves are as much socialists as you are, Trevor.

Here's Reeves telling us how bad child poverty is, that kids go to bed hungry, wake up in cold homes & end up in hospital with respiratory problems, all because of child poverty.

Last year Labour suspended 7 MPs from the PLP for voting to scrap the cap

She thinks we're idiots

Rachel reeves says 500,000 children will be taken out of poverty due to her decisions. Yet Rachel didn’t give a fk about children when the snp brought the motion to remove the two child cap. Such fkn self serving liar

But she did lie!! She lied, she's a liar and a fraud
You are a better woman than I - I am a complete coward and didnt want to watch Reeves being grilled on a non story about lying instead of the details of the budget. I listened to @quietriotpod.bsky.social instead. Much more soothing

She'll be gone next year.

See all those green circles? That's Scottish on- and off-shore wind generation, right now.

We generate more than we need. It's the cheapest way to generate electricity. And yet Westminster ensures that Scotland has amongst the highest energy prices in the UK/Europe.

Heard this one? The City of Barcelona traded 3 lanes of vehicle traffic for an exceptional 4.7km green pedestrian corridor in the heart of the Eixample grid. Businesses sued, & eventually won in court. Then they admitted that they actually like the change.

The subcategorization/tropefication of popular fiction has been very bad in general, both for authors and readers.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
