This is what it comes down to. You are allowed--nay, ENCOURAGED--to curate your online experience, as stringently as you like. What you can't do is demand that an authority figure do it for you

I feel when freedom of expression/art is argued for, many people knee-jerk hear they have to like/accept art they hate or disgusted by

you are allowed to hate and block art you don't like or even find morally reprehensible. you're just not allowed to negatively impact an artist's freedom to make it

hello #portfolioday !!

i'm shu, self-taught blender artist currently based in canada! i love pokemon, little round creatures and miniatures 💛
a 3d render of clefairy with a sleepy cap on. she is holding onto a fuzzy purple blanket while holding onto the phone with her other hand. she is in the bedroom, cozied up in her bed, with some pillows and books on the floor, and sparkling lights to make the night peaceful. A render of Porygon2 in a swimming pool. It is floating alongside a Psyduck floatie that is carrying a can of lemonade, along with a tube float and a ball in the pool. In the background, a few strands of palm tree leaves are visible behind the pool scene. What happens to a chao when it gets sent away? A 3d render based on the Chao from Sonic Adventures DX when you try to send your Chao away forever. This Chao has a tear in its eye and is holding a bindle to prepare for its new life. 3d render of azumarill in a space suit, floating. surrounded by stars and curious cleffa, azurill is waving to a cleffa floating near by it. they appear to be on a moon, crater-like surface.

GenAI truly was the worst technology to come along at this moment.

An energy and water guzzler when we most urgently need to take climate action.

A disinformation machine as our journalism fails.

A bias machine as fascism takes root.

A job killer in a cost of living crisis.

The "cognitive decline and brain damage from repeat COVID infections" and "easy to use robot that makes slop and melts your critical thinking skills" is a hell of a combo in a post-fact media ecosystem

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a cancer vaccine that has shown STUNNING results, PREVENTING up to 88% of MULTIPLE aggressive cancers by harnessing dual-pathway nanoparticles that train the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells. In some cases, it COMPLETELY prevented metastasis.

Alright y'all, so I had this essay about the current era of the internet and the hypocrisy from all sides about children on social media in my head for months.

This is actually my first time writing an essay like this so uhm, it would be cool if you read it 👉👈

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

It turns out building habits and stuff actually requires not being in survival mode, who knew?!
(Yeah yeah I did)

I liked when James Baxter used to do occasional guest spots on animated TV shows. I assume studios had a bat signal for him, except instead of a static bat it was a horse running in perspective towards the camera while the camera rotated around it

This is a warning to every artists and clients using PayPal: Leave the note blank or send invoices. Apparently even saying "commission" makes them trigger happy. #SaveSpeech #StopPaypros

And continue the pressure by calling PayPal. Helpful link here: anti-censorship-campaign.carrd.co#phonescript

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
