Not only do I not think this “free 6 month extension” applies when the indictment never existed to begin with, this freebie would incentivize the government to keep stacking illegal indictments to duck the statute of limitations in perpetuity… which, like interim appointments, just cannot be the law

I’ll add that whenever Roberts breaks ranks — especially on voting — it’s always about setting a new standard to amass more authority that solidifies him as the ultimate arbiter.
