This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

Worth reiterating that the Coast Guard is part of DHS, not the military.

So if this is "acceptable" Coast Guard policy, it's also probably an acceptable policy at ICE, CBP, Secret Service, and other agencies under DHS if it's not already.

The damage that this admin has caused CHILDREN is unforgivable. & they have no remorse.

In addition to ICE in our country (👇) with the removal of USAID, the estimate is that 400,000 needy children have died. The USA could have saved them. Again, no remorse.

Crimes against humanity.
1/ THREAD: This year ICE has sent a record 600 immigrant kids into federal shelters, more than in the previous four years combined. Data suggests some are being separated from their families.

For one 15-year-old, it began with a cracked windshield 👇
