My pal is battling cancer and just had brain surgery. He's not asking for a handout, he doesn't have a go fund me, he just wants to sell you a shirt ⬇️ so he can afford to live while he fights inoperable tumors. Go buy a shirt - there are dozens of designs to choose from.

This is just a kinder way to tell us it's all downhill from here.
* shroomscrolling
That is a mushroom.
That sounds like a good plan, just saying I'll stick with climate change as my thing to be most worried about. The fancy parrot bot tech does not worry me half as much, although it is a huge contributor to the problem of climate change.

This quote from Mike Berners-Lee - as CO2 reaches record high of 423.9 ppm 😱
Warns of 'cascading tipping points' - mounting evidence natural carbon sinks are reversing. 'The language in scientific papers is as close to screaming as you will get in an academic journal'.
The worst case scenario for climate change is the proliferation of toxic algae that could alter the Earth's atmosphere to such a degree that it becomes inhospitable for mammalian life. We do have an off switch but even if we hit it, things still get worse for hundreds or even thousands of years.
What I'm seeing is that Canada built a factory for EVs and batteries and the tenant pulled a midnight move. I personally know several Canadian companies and even a Chinese one that would be more than happy to move in.
This is one of those moments where you see plainly how oblivious the Trump administration is re. the subtle art of manufacturing consent, and feel mildly reassured because it means they will fail quicker.
Also because they themselves are very generously funded by billionaires and lack one single principle that is not for sale. It's hard to understand how people who are so different from you think, especially if you don't want to.
At least now I fully understand how it happened. Ok not fully but I have a much more nuanced understanding of the German experience than I did before.
My grandpa and aunties fought the original Nazis. They understood the stakes. I'm glad they're not here to see that somehow they stuck around and their grandchildren will probably have to fight them at home.
Upper Ohio my frostbitten ass. If they think it's an intolerable hardship not to be let in to pee in municipal buildings in Chicago, and that inflatable frogs doing pelvic thrusts are terrifying, wait until they come into my town.
I know the Nazi US flag is the star of this show but as a Canadian I couldn't help noticing that map too. These are not jokes.
Casts his comment that Trump is "America's Hitler" in a whole new light, doesn't it.
Yeah but for a group of mostly 25-35 year old men.
He worships a different kind of god than most.
Crepidotus applanatus or mollis? One of those. #PNW #mushrooms

this is today's Supreme Court oral argument on the Voting Rights Act in a nutshell
This is the result of a lot of people pretending racism is one of the greatest taboos in our culture while failing to address racism substantively. People are appalled by the idea of being called racist while being totally committed to upholding racism throughout society.
Every time a Democrat gets caught on tape saying like “Some Trump voters are racist” we have a national scandal and JD Vance demands an entirely new kind of apology and meanwhile every Republican group chat is like “Good morning fellow SS members. Who’s ready to respect Hitler today?”
Moses Mike and his homies are all standing weirdly close together. IME this is what bullies do when they're spooked and feel like the crowd is turning against them.
