Since releasing the demo for Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake, my wishlists got a huge boost!

I don't really play demos myself, so I wasn't sure if I should make a demo at first, but I am glad I did.

Why do video games cost so much to make these days? A recent NYT article pinned bloated budgets on the graphical arms race, but that's only a small part of the equation. The real problem? Rampant mismanagement.

This week's column is a spicy one: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
Why So Many Video Games Cost So Much to Make
Graphical fidelity is only part of the reason that game budgets have swelled to hundreds of millions of dollars

Choosing bonus languages in standard D&D games is the worst. Either your choice matters a lot or it matters not at all.

Lots of ways to handle this, but I prefer my languages to have some *sizzle*.

A new mindstorm blog post to close out the year! I'm theory-posting about the cognitive load of worldbuilding and our ability to comprehend it. tl;dr: the more stuff you include that is "off baseline" the harder it becomes to understand.

A part of my clues are ‘traveling clues’. When the players roll a crit success. They can find extra stuff. When they roll a crit fail. The clue isn’t lost. It just moved into the next logical location. Thus, an important clue is never lost. NPCs are the best clues. They are naturally mobile 😜

I don’t want to be rude but the answer is “Fun.” Be Fun first, Live Service second. In almost every case I can think of recent failure it had Live Service elements that came at the expense of Fun and the players recognize that.
