At this week's rehearsal, one person gave the essential description of Theatre of the Oppressed: "we have to act, then think!" She shared how important doing this with us in community is, to be more connected, to balance her mind from the the times of being isolated. ❤️❤️❤️
When I facilitate, my internal judge is measuring to a list of high standards: accessibility, equity, fun, anti-oppression, & more...

When I hear back how people reflect on the rehearsal, it's never directly those measures. It's, "I've spent a lot of time alone, and this means so much." Or

The University's response has been disappointing.

We read sections every time we train people to facilitate Theatre of the Oppressed. (Maybe some us re-read Freire more than Boal 🫢)
Of all the books I've read thus far, this is one of the five most important.

I have the first chapter mostly memorized. "While the problem of humanization has always, from an axiological point of view, been humankind’s central problem, it now takes on the character of an inescapable concern..."
