At this week's rehearsal, one person gave the essential description of Theatre of the Oppressed: "we have to act, then think!" She shared how important doing this with us in community is, to be more connected, to balance her mind from the the times of being isolated. ❤️❤️❤️
When I facilitate, my internal judge is measuring to a list of high standards: accessibility, equity, fun, anti-oppression, & more...

When I hear back how people reflect on the rehearsal, it's never directly those measures. It's, "I've spent a lot of time alone, and this means so much." Or
Need to know how the coffee was 👀

“We have to be really clear that there is no contradiction between saying clearly that antisemitism is completely unacceptable and demanding that the genocide end.”

Na'amod's Em Hilton spoke to @novaramedia.com about organising against antisemitism and for Palestinian liberation.

Together with @ukjan.bsky.social Na'amod NW has been encouraging the University of Manchester to adopt better policies on antisemitism & student protest and to drop the IHRA definition.

The University's response has been disappointing.

We read sections every time we train people to facilitate Theatre of the Oppressed. (Maybe some us re-read Freire more than Boal 🫢)
Of all the books I've read thus far, this is one of the five most important.

I have the first chapter mostly memorized. "While the problem of humanization has always, from an axiological point of view, been humankind’s central problem, it now takes on the character of an inescapable concern..."
50th! Feels like we should have it a party.
I'm with the #HandsOff protests today in spirit. That's my mom out there marshalling with 2000 people in the streets in New Haven, CT. 💪🔥
Week 2 of the Chorlton Park Primary Bike Train: 60 kids and adults rode together in the streets today, en route to school! The energy is building, and everyone is having a blast along the way! 🔥🚲

Motherhood does not exist outside of political conditions.

Under Israeli apartheid, Palestinian mothers face systemic violence: forced displacement, military raids, aerial bombardment, and denial of basic resources, including food, water and medicine.
