Today is trash day, and a neighbor put in a balloon in their can, but the truck didn't get it.

Moscow 2001 - 2005. I left a week to the day after Sept 11.
I did my Master's there and stayed on to work in film & TV for a few years - American productions were there a lot. Then Putin cracked down on a lot so work stopped coming.

I lived in Moscow when Putin started the slide to authoritarianism. Trump is doing the exact same things here.

People need to stop saying Kimmel was cancelled for specific comments.

He was cancelled because Nexstar need government approval to buy a bunch of TV stations and they’re hoping throwing a talk show host Trump doesn’t like into a volcano will get them approval.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. I lived in Moscow from 2001 - 2005 and saw Putin do these same things then when he won reelection by a mandate that Trump and his junk drawer are doing now.

People were silenced and stations were taken off air or taken over as state media.
