Spent today dropping off donations & volunteering at an animal refuge. My body's -ow- from all the gravel I shovelled for their cat enclosure, but as a bonus I befriended a Most Zen dog & Inquisitive goat. Look at all that glorious handwoven-branch fencing! 🍃

Heading out today to volunteer at an animal refuge/sanctuary with their needed upgrades/repairs today, because it's the best & most immediate thing I can think to do to tangibly help *someone* (hopefully many someones) right now.

I for one would like to welcome our new cow (and avian, and mustelid, & heck ~ all the rest of the non-peopley animal & botanical kingdom) leaders.
Every time a situation like this comes up and humans start saying “nonhuman animals might be smarter than we thought” folks in animal rescue have to laugh. We already knew!!

Channeled energy today chopping things that needing chopping 🪓 until I rolled backwards onto the ground. I laughed at the absurdity & felt like a kid for a rare, glorious moment.
Also? A stack of firewood now exists & will be a surprise gift for an older lady who uses a woodstove to heat her home.
