City Raccoons Are Evolving to Look More Like Pets

And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Hey @captmarkkelly.bsky.social . Concerned about your quick jump on the AI bandwagon. I'm a constituent and donor and will be taking a close look at your proposed bill, protections for the public- and what donations you get from the tech oligarchs' PAC.
Top executives cannot shut up about AI.

… but is it helping?

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

My constant companion for 16 years, waited patiently with me in a hospital parking lot while my husband went thru chemo at the height of the pandemic. AKC Canine Good Citizen, registered therapy dog, agility champ and the best, most loving boy. Rest in peace Mr. Henry. We love you forever.

I've been so distracted that I missed the news of Sawyer's passing. Arizonans read Karina Bland's columns for years and watched Sawyer grow up through the pages of the Arizona Republic. We loved this young man as one of our own and are devastated by this news.
A choir of angels sing him to his rest.
As a fellow single mom, I’m heartbroken today for Karina Bland and her family. As acting governor, I’m proud to issue this proclamation on behalf of Sawyer Bland and his loved ones.

Trump has normalized the “I’m just hearing about this for the first time” so much that Republicans are no longer even criticized for apparently being uninformed about everything.

If you really know nothing … that’s bad too!
Q: What's your reaction to yesterday's purge of senior ICE officials? When is it time for Congress to do some oversight?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know any of the details of that yet. I just heard about that, literally I was walking in.

Happy that someone is finally taking legal action against the little fluffer. His behavior is not only damaging to Grijalva's District but also the State of Arizona and the rest of the country.
Lawsuits from AZ AG Mayes and Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva are imminent, my sources say. They are most likely to be filed tomorrow, but could happen by the end of today.
Mike Johnson on Adelita Grijalva, who he refuses to swear in: "Instead of doing TikTok videos, she should be serving her constituents."
