The Singapore Air Force already has a facility at that same base (sounds like 1 building on the base for maintenance and storage for RSAF planes) but I don't know how wide spread that is.

There are, however, issues with Qatar and its funding of terrorism that don't exist with Singapore.

My sense is it's more about the ease of install and lower cost of entry to install an unducted mini split system than it is for a fully ducted HVAC system. It looks like installing a mini split can be a one person job while a full HVAC install definitely isn't.

I would say that even if they may not excel on our hottest days, our real "need" is overnight when the temp cools back down to a mere 100°.

For us it's just one room that's the problem. In beginning our research, I was surprised at the number of installers locally that specialize in just mini splits and not entire HVAC ducted systems.

Thanks. My understanding of the tax credit requirement is that it applies to heat pumps which may include AC but does not apply to AC only mini splits so whatever we consider will include a heat pump.

That is also very helpful info. Our central AC works well for the whole house except for our bedroom which has west exposure and no amount of rebalancing seems to fix it. We're thinking about installing the mini split to address it. We should have done it before the summer started but here we are.
