I have been screaming this to the heavens for years and it’s lovely to see more people noticing: BEING safe is a right, FEELING safe is between you and your therapist. And the demand to FEEL safe is constantly weaponized to deprive other people of their real, actual safety.
One thing the NYC mayoral race underscored for me is how easily the phrase "I don't feel safe" can be weaponized. It's an argument I would hesitate ever to use again, even for a good cause. I hope we can all agree that we have the right to BE safe. Maybe we should leave it at that.

I wanted to like Daboll, and still kinda do, but the little things just never got better. Ever. And then the stuff with driving Dart to death. Plus the inability to finish a game has to fall on the coach at some point (even when I blame Schoen just as much because of bad roster construction).

The positive spin is: Dems get to “save” SNAP and continue to point to Trump fighting tooth and nail to keep it out of peoples hands like a wacko. That’s not nothing. Also and most importantly, people do need food as quick as they can get it.
If Trump’s going to go full Mad King mode on SNAP like this, the optics of the Democrats caving to try to protect people are significantly better than anyone’s assuming, imo
