Been thinking a lot about Our Wombie, and IMO, his legacy is community.

One of Jim's other great skills is sneezing.

I struggle to visualise, as a result I find the first draft extremely taxing, because I have to form a world from something unseen.
But I do love to edit because then I can feel the rhythm and cadence and carve the story out of words already formed.

I prefer the editing phase to the first draft of writing. Most of the time tightening up sentences for me is much easier than forming new ones.

One of the many depressing things about people finding leftover GenAI prompts in books is that I can only assume it means the "author" didn't even bother reading through their book before publishing. And I'm over here painstakingly proofreading mine until I'm sick of the thing 😭

Spilled cat food everywhere, and it would have been a disaster, but I had help from someone small and purry. She was born for that kind of cleaning!

No actual knitting BUT I unpicked a bit and now know where I'm starting from, and all my ducks ... er ... stitches should be in a row!
I might actually pick up my knitting this evening ... bets on how long before I realise I'm completely at sea as to where I got to and have to abandon / defrog everything.
My bet is 5 mins.

Planster. I really try to plan, but I just don't know enough going in, so the story evolves and grows. Slowly – drip by drip – a stalactite of a story forms.
