Hey all,

Seems like there's a new influx of cool people realizing that this is the place to be. I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a Pulitzer Prize winning comic artist and art director. Son of late comic legend, Neal Adams. And I'm actively looking to collaborate.

The first leg of my flight home from Japan will take me to Detroit. Because of timezone quirks, I'll be landing one hour prior to when I took off.

Sometimes, an idea rattles around in your head for ages as you struggle to find the key to that story existing in a way that others can enjoy. I've been that way with one particular story for the past year. Thankfully, this trip to Japan has unlocked the missing piece, and I can't wait to share it.

The thing about traveling, from a creative standpoint, is that it really adds so much to your mental toolbox for when you're ready to write or draw or do whatever it is you want to do. Even a small trip can give you more blocks to build with.

Anyone care for an existential treat?

It was a really lovely place, even with all of us tourists, it was very peaceful. Everyone was very respectful of the surroundings.

Another shot from Shirakawa-Go. I wish I could have spent more time here.

It's not the end of the world to do it. I just see it in job listings, and when people speak about large businesses and it feels so disingenuous in those instances. They're referencing ecology to soften the coldness of an economy.

I've recognized a new peeve of mine: when people refer to a business or industry as an "ecosystem." Makes my skin crawl.

I'll recount more of my time in Kyoto, probably when I get back home, but I wanted to say that these past few days have been such a rewarding experience both culturally and emotionally. The people I have met have been so kind to me, and I will be bringing new friendships home with me.

Okay, so I'm not visiting the traditional Japanese cultural sights today...

After many, many hours of travel, we've arrived at our hotel in Kyoto. Going to get some sleep and start fresh in the morning.

I guess not many people want to take the 6AM to Minneapolis...

On the road to the airport. A friend of ours is clearly working on his sainthood by offering to drive us at this ungodly hour. I haven't done nearly enough to earn this level of kindness, but I'll certainly work on it going forward.

Hah. No, but if you're starting a club for people who are frustrated by their spouse's procrastination before trips, I can introduce you to my wife.

Packing for a trip takes roughly one week: Six days and 23 hours of procrastination, one panicked hour of shoving stuff into bags and clearly forgetting like 10% of your necessary travel items.

Do raisins get old? Or do they just get more raisin?

Heading to Japan in couple days. It's pretty much all I can think about. Those few days before a trip become all about anticipating the trip.

Here's the pencil, ink, and color of the Hisoka piece. Figured you could get a better look without the time-lapse.

Nope. Just awkwardly cut to after the violence. Admittedly, there is way to much exposition in this movie, so cutting out the gory parts of the fights really leaves little to enjoy.

The most recent Mortal Kombat film is on TV, but it's been edited for TV. It's pretty much an impossible task.
