This is true! Last year I offered pro bono communications and confidence coaching to a group of local Democratic candidates, most of them won, and we flipped our county legislature from red to blue. Little steps can have a big impact!
I just generally think the antidote to dooming and feelings of helplessness is getting involved in any way. It can be as a poll worker, doing ICE watch, running for local office, helping with mutual aid, whatever.
