This week is Road Safety Week & a chance to talk about Barbara Castle!
Barbara was Transport Minister for three years yet she was able to introduce the Breathalyzer, a proper integrated transport strategy & more!

Scott's stand is principled. I'm so disappointed that the company that bought the print magazines is blaming authors rather than taking responsibility for their own bad contract and changing it for everyone.

Scott's stand is principled. I'm so disappointed that the company that bought the print magazines is blaming authors rather than taking responsibility for their own bad contract and changing it for everyone.
I know the old joke was always that the primary market for polaroid cameras was blokes wanting to take nude pictures of their wives but not wanting to then take them to a photo shop for processing... but "swinger" must have had a different meaning back then, right? 😀

I paid €400 for a signed copy in the Gaelcon charity auction, but I couldn’t honestly say it changed my life.
Just got one of those LLM “you are bestest author evar, we run a book club with 10000 members all of whom must post a review once an hour or die” spams about OGL Horror, an rpg book that came out in 2004. I await the email from someone telling me that the Quintessential Halfling changed their lives.

On Cross Country train on way to @armadacon.bsky.social. Plugs phone in. Phone doesn’t charge. Not sure why. Thinking maybe internal power isn’t enabled. Five minutes later a loud chugging noise emerges accompanied by a strong vibration. Phone starts charging.
It appears I’m on a diesel train. :)

I know his family wouldn't want to accept it in a million years, but I think Bernard McGuigan deserves a posthumous George Cross. He showed huge courage in risking his life to save another human being and paid the ultimate price.
