The WHCA and the rollover by the Dems is part and parcel of the same thing. Everyone forgot these are prestige gigs because they come with responsibility and even some danger. Instead we have a lazy collective of vapid twits who think they are just owed prestige gigs, cause "Harvard" or whatever.
I do have to wonder when all of the vapid major media heathers groupthinked the idea that anyone who, in the course of their normal job duties in law enforcement, found Trump suspect or prosecutable, are validly called "political foes".

I guess Archibald Cox was Nixon's "political foe".

Today I’m ashamed to be a US citizen.
Btw, I do hope people understand what they have seen today. It was a well-planned and deliberate ambush of Ukraine by Trump, to force the Ukrainians to bend the knee to Putin's dictatorship. It was not slip-shod, rushed, impulsive or an accident. It was prepared malice.

This is your reminder that before being elected this man had no visible means of income, yet lived well. How?

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

Sadly accurate
Senator: (posting on bluesky) The president told his supporters to prepare for the “Night Of One Thousand Screams.” Might I suggest he instead hold the Night Of One Thousand Bipartisan Discussions Of Job Creation Opportunities

The Post and Matt Viser are suggesting that 22 yrs ago someone impersonated Donald Trump in response to a request from Ghislaine Maxwell to Trump and created a fake card to embarrass him 22 yrs later when he would be President. I'm not going to dignify this nonsense with anything but laughter

Uh, because seeing people in person is radically different than seeing them online. Is it really hard here?
Social media was supposed to kill high-school reunions, Jordan Michelman argues. But far from being dead, they now exist in a zone of distortion, where people feel obligated to go without knowing why:
What’s the Point of a High-School Reunion?
Social media should have killed them. Instead, they’re popular again.

Life for Palestinians in Gaza has gotten worse under Trump, not better. So where are Jill Stein and Cornel West now?

They aren’t leading protests in DC outside the White House, no rallies. Almost like the whole 2024 thing was just performative.

We are in very dark times. It’ll take an entire political/social movement, an overwhelming rebuke at the polls, and a new vision of governance to unstick this country from whatever this collapse is.

Want help with your missing Social Security check? Better get right with the Jesus first, or else.

Think that's absurd?
The memo also specifically states that employees must be allowed to display "posters" with religious messages in their workspace 🤷‍♂️

Dear Democratic candidates/officials. Pro tip. If you do something you should be doing, like protesting a Trump illegal action, or you have a run-in with IOCE, whatever...

IT IS NOT A FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY

When your staff/PAC/whatevs fires that text, you just changed it to a stunt for money.

One of the ironic parallels between left and right I find hilarious is the long term/short term one. Example, looney US Right: "We are going to remove all those chemicals in foods!!! (actually good) "We are also going to cut budgets on center research and Medicaid!!!". /1

Then I guess you can't have AI.
NEW: “You can't be expected to have a successful AI program when every single article, book or anything else that you've read or studied, you're supposed to pay for,” Trump said. “We appreciate that, but just can't do it— because it's not doable.”

Also so odd that Jeff Bezos suddenly wants to buy Condé Nast, the parent company of (among other inconvenient publications) Wired.
I'd just like to point out how weird it is that places with hundreds or even thousands of reporters — the NYT, WaPo, CBS, NBC, AP, etc. — are all getting pummeled on every major story by the dozen computerboys at Wired. To fumble the bag this consistently is, at some point, cowardice and a choice.

NEW: Metadata from the “raw” Epstein prison video shows approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds were removed from one of two stitched-together clips. The cut starts right at the “missing minute.”

Nails the issue in one. Just working to "get elected" resolves nothing about "and now what do you do". It's as age old as Robert Redford's "The Candidate".

BTW - This is also what is wrong with "the media". No amount of "my article is factually accurate" resolves "what is your editorial direction".
