The contrast between what Obama was expected to do to atone for Jeremiah Wright's sermons, which were not at all racist, and what Graham Platner is not expected to do to atone for his own public declarations, which are, is very revealing.

I don’t run a reform school for racism. I’m serious. He could, however, consult with people who do. Read books? I don’t know.

I do believe that should those acts present themselves during a campaign, voters can judge them — they can find them sufficient or wanting. Neither would be a purity test.

I can answer what would matter.

It would matter if he would let go of ego & drop, instead supporting a candidate that doesn't muddy the waters & whom he agrees with. Put his full voice in backing that person, focusing on the political win instead of his own personal win.

That'd be a solid start.

Why not simply find a candidate who has NOT sported a nazi tat for nearly two decades?

For example: I am 50 years old and somehow I managed to NEVER get a nazi tattoo. Not accidentally, ironically, or any other reason. I've never considered myself that special. Surely Maine has an equivalent.

I have, but the KS hit 200% of the goal and I've been super busy so I've been slack in plugging it more. I have a Milk & Cheese pinup in this, btw, if things work out I've agreed to do new M&C strips if the revival continues. I loved being a part of the original Deadline run.
