Retired lefty gammon who lies about his name.

I like reading stuff by people who know more about things than me. If you DM me uninvited I will block you. I don’t care how big your chest is madam.
Suspect this-will become a thing.
All orders signed by Trump should be reversed because he’s not in his right mind. His name should be stricken from American history.

Interesting take on where the US “poverty line” really is.
Maybe another way to think of it is as the "participation line" - the income one needs to fully participate in expected aspects of US life without worrying about plunging into deprivation one way or another

An investor called $140,000 the new poverty line. Experts disagreed but said he had a point.
Michael Green’s tally of the costs of raising a family in the U.S. today is going viral, even if some economists scoff at his math.

Love to hear the MAGA defence of this. Suspect there isn’t one.

Even the most uninformed MAGA voter will eventually notice.
When this criminal was jailed, the judge told David Gentile and America: ‘This is a warning to would-be fraudsters that seeking to get rich by taking advantage of investors gets you only a one-way ticket to jail.’ I guess not

I now fully expect the Tories to run on an enthusiastic rejoin platform at the next UK GE.
Oops sorry we ruined the country and everything we voted for was a lie. Our total bad. Anyway, how about those bloody migrants eh??

Still gonny skate the next Holyrood elections though.
John Swinney's first budget as first minister removed free bus passes for people seeking asylum meaning none of them are going anywhere they can't walk to.

The SNP-Green Glasgow council complains too many people granted asylum move here.

Fortunately he can get a photo taken with some kids.
It’s not where we come from that counts, it’s about where we’re going.

Great to meet Afghan Scots children at Maryhill Burgh Halls and hear a lovely rendition of Robert Burns.

“Loyal” to who though?
Pretty much the best definition of a cult you'll ever see.

Just catching up with the budget coverage in the papers.

If he’s being totally honest, I suspect Farage would be first choice.

But he can’t be totally honest.
Most voters don’t want Nigel Farage to become Prime Minister. But “it doesn’t really matter” to John Swinney. Quite a telling admission.

Strange the things people find to boil their piss.
He clearly doesn’t understand basic constitutional terms.

FACT: Westminster and Holyrood are parliaments and the governments in each are the current administrations.

FACT: Holyrood is a recognised parliament, just like Westminster, with its own recognised government acting as its administration.

Embarrassingly inept.
Fairly certain Kemi Badenoch is hoping that nobody has noticed this.

Pretty brazen...

Who on earth can we possibly pin this self inflicted calamity on?

Hmmmmmmm…..

Nah, still not a proper football country.
The last time America hosted a men’s World Cup, in 1994, purists sniffed that it wasn’t a proper footballing country—they had a point. But in 2026 things will look different
America is now the biggest market for international football
As well as co-hosting the World Cup in 2026, more and more people in America are watching soccer, and spending on football media rights is rising

The US may yet prove Marx right.
Your Black Friday reminder that in 75% of U.S. industries, a smaller number of companies now control more of the business than they did twenty years ago. We must stop the monopolization of America. Shop small if you can, please.

The Tories are a policy desert and are regurgitating US religious far right bollocks wholesale.
I absolutely cannot understand what political goal Badenoch thinks she’s accomplishing here. If nothing else, she’s directly invited the Archbishop of Canterbury to weigh in, and she must know she’ll disagree.

She thinks being a tool is her special sauce.
It's very far down her list of problems, but there is a reason why every successful party leader has another politician do most of the attack stuff, even when the attack messaging is popular. People agree with the sentiment but they also think the message carrier is a tool.

I’ve no real dog in the English football race, but for some reason have always found Arsenal a hard team to love, even during Wengers pomp.
Top of the Premier League. Six points clear. Top of the Champions League. Two points clear.

This is the Arsenal Football Club Mikel Arteta has created.

We’re the best team on the planet right now.
