Monster fan club release at Floating World was fun yesterday, I think I drew a dozen free goblins like this one for the Brave Souls who came out, also there Were tricker treaters in the mall, love to see embarrassed and bold kids dressed insanely in the ‘abandoned mall’ setting

favorite rapture was the total lunar eclipse in 2018, several seconds of daylight darkness and then we all walked home from the park like nothing had happened, watching solar mirages on the sidewalk, little did we know it would take 7 more years until our spirits were forced to evacuate or perish

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

More art should take up the lingo of cooking, cuz anything I start drawing gets to a boiling point, after a peak needs to sit for a while, with ‘hating myself, the project’ being analogous to the food being too hot, or not cooked enough, yet often ends up being edible, aka ‘I got out of my own way’
