I still maintain that my idea for UK activists totally kicks ass.

They all find a ship with tea bound for the United States in the River Thames, storm it, toss the contents overboard, and then unfurl a banner “NO TARIFFS ON TEA“.

So the USA plans to fabricate their science going forward? If they do, they'll really be able to behave as if they fully don't need scientific evidence anymore. They can just pump out pseudoscience, like antivaxx articles "made by LLMs".

See doi.org/10.31234/osf... for the case in psychology.

As an author, I don't make a whole lot of money, but at the same time I need to read a lot of books to stay aware of trends and support my fellow authors. Obviously if I spend all my profits on other people's books, I'm not coming out ahead!

So: ways to read lots of indie books for cheap.

This is your regular reminder that being a weekly columnist for 10 years + is deeply self-radicalising. No one has that many ideas or opinions and the two inevitable outcomes appear to be either inane predictability or performing acrobatics to justify hate-stoking controversy.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.
