rightwingers see people caring about others in their community and instead of finding that inspiring they think it’s some sort of grand conspiracy because they don’t understand what it means to care for others you don’t personally know

People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.

I'm sorry for the person who was beat to death and killed. My sincere condolences to their loved ones. ICE is going to continue to kill people because the purpose of a system is what it does. It is not what it says it does or what you hope it does. Maybe USians will finally confront this truth.

this is really well-written and informative tech crit - the best piece i have read on gas town and the future of agent orchestration and distance from code
I have Gas Town derangement syndrome and spent the last few weeks writing thousands of words on agent orchestration patterns; how they shift our bottlenecks and force us to ask whether and when we should stop looking at code

Gas Town’s Agent Patterns, Design Bottlenecks, and Vibecoding at Scale
On agent orchestration patterns, why design and critical thinking are the new bottlenecks, and whether we should let go of looking at code

bending spoons likes to acquire products that do one thing good and when they decide the product is as good as they can get it, they lay off everyone who worked on it so they can just let it hum along as a money printer until customers jet, money printer stops and the product dies
I hope Dropout TV has a plan*, because the predictable just happened after Bending Spoons bought Vimeo.

* For a critical supplier like Vimeo I'd normally expect something like notification on upcoming change of control + change of control clauses
Bending Spoons laid off almost everybody at Vimeo yesterday | Hacker News

On open protocols, your main goal should not be to serve everyone. We tried that, and it's a mess out there.

Serve your community, the one you understand the needs of. Build something *you* want. You'd be surprised at how many you's are out there waiting for the exact same thing.
