I didn't take pics but the feeling of being in a group of people with no visible beginning or end was so thrilling. The opposite of online anomie, and a living counterpoint to the wary, isolated, compartmentalized world the shitheads want to make. It's simple and obvious I guess but it means a lot.

Accidentally raptured into heaven with all the evangelicals and somehow one of them has already set up the worst barbecue place imaginable. There's a banner out front where the illustration depicts a pig that has a goatee and is wearing a handgun in a holster. Everything tastes like corn syrup.

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

It is pretty noticeable that even as mainstream opinion on Israel and Gaza finally shifts, you don’t hear the Responsible Adults apologizing for punishing all the college kids protesting the atrocities. Quite the opposite in fact!

This account of the relationship between the last two Jews in Taliban Afghanistan is incredible

He became the country's last Jew upon the death of Yitzhak Levi in 2005. The pair famously did not get along. In 1998 Levi wrote to the Taliban interior minister to accuse Simantov of theft of Jewish relics. Simantov responded by telling the Taliban that Levi ran a secret brothel where he sold alcohol.

The Taliban was so annoyed by their constant fighting that twhy threw them in jail. But they eventually kicked them back out when they continued to fight inside the prison.

Awarding a contract with a high ceiling doesn’t mean that the awardee is going to actually see the money nor that it’s even funded. Just gives the government the vehicle to issue a task order with actual funding attached.

It has granted relief to Trump ... in all 15 rulings.

It has written majority opinions in only 3.

Today's order is the 7th with no explanation *at all.*
